“Patwa” threadwork..

Patwa…..this thread craft, practised in parts of Northern India. Derived from the word ‘pat’ meaning silk and those involved in the silk and cotton thread business are called Patwas. Traditionally they were weavers engaged in jewellery-making business and worked with silver and golden threads. No-Mad is sensitive to this dying craft…and has today tried to revive it by incorporating it in its collection as cushion strings closures…Modern but always in line with tradition…
